EWE-025 is an elegant hand woven Ewe textile whose quiet palette, measured geometry and subtle rhythm reveal a remarkable sense of balance. Beautifully preserved and most likely woven in Ghana or Togo.

Hand woven by Ewe artisans using individually woven cotton strips joined by hand, EWE-025 reflects a weaving tradition refined over centuries. Measuring 2.4 × 1.1 metres, this is a substantial textile whose generous proportions allow it to be displayed either vertically or horizontally, although its elongated composition is particularly well suited to a horizontal presentation.

Its unusually restrained palette allows the intricate structure of the weaving to take centre stage, while scattered bands of colour introduce moments of warmth and visual rhythm across the composition. On closer inspection, beautifully crafted symbolic motifs and delicate figurative elements gradually emerge from the pale ground, rewarding careful observation with details that are easily overlooked at first glance. Presented within a bespoke white frame and deep mount, the textile celebrates the quiet beauty of hand craftsmanship, the subtle irregularities of the woven surface and the enduring dialogue between tradition and contemporary design.
